esion- DETROIT INDUSTRIAL ROCK. Don Kline graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in music and marketing in 1996. A year prior, he formed a solo electronic/industrial-rock outfit named "esion". Since then, he has released 3 independent albums; "e.p." in 1995, "Lickity Split" in 1996, and "en route" in 1998. In May of 1999, a new track entitled "You Are Hear" was featured on the Detroit Electronica Coalition CD compilation "D[elEcTROnIc]T". For the past three years he has been performing in an around the Metro Detroit area in venues including St.Andrew's Hall, Harpo's, the Blind Pig, The Labyrinth, Griff's, and Jacoby's. In 1999, he was an opening act for Industrial Rock veterans Sister Machine Gun. In early 2000, Jon Ameel, Joseph Popiolek, and Andy Monkiewicz were added to the live esion lineup. Benic Systems is the exclusive provider of live lighting and theatrics for all esion shows. In the Spring of 2000, esion was nominated for "Best Industrial Artist" in the Detroit Music Awards. A few weeks later, esion's music was licensed to MTV for use on their "Making the Video" series. esion is currently writing and recording songs for a new CD that is scheduled for a summer release.
